Development of the MyoFascial Disruption Technique
After 80 years of combined treatment experience Dr. Brad Hayes, Dr. Hugh Gemmel and Dr. Malcolm Conway decided to tear through the literature to find out the truth behind soft tissue injuries.

Dr. Conway was formerly training in advance rehab with University of Southern California with Dr. Scott Chapman. After studying with him and many other of his colleagues from that discipline - Dr. Conway came across a treatment that at first he didn’t believe was possible. He found this technique will he was researching information pertaining to spinal rehabilitation.

Here’s how it started.

Dr. Conway found out about this treatment first concerning a sprained ankle. As he continued to read about it a patient presented herself into his office reporting a sprained ankle. The female patient reported that she had sprained her right ankle over a week ago and was unable to drive her car due to the pain.

She reported that she needed to get home to see her sick mother but was unable to use the gas pedal due to the pain. She entered the office wearing a ankle air cast as well as using crutches. Dr. Conway told her, “I’ve been researching a new treatment that can have you feeling better pretty quick however, I never have preformed the treatment before.”

The patient stated that, “doc, I’ll try anything at this point.”

Dr. Conway proceeded to treat the sprained ankle with the MyoFascial Disruption Technique to the patient and much to Dr. Conway’s surprise…it worked!

In a matter of 15 minutes the patient was walking down the hall without the air cast and without the crutches and left to see her mother.

There was evidence that research dating back to the 1950’s concerning the healing of soft tissue damage without the use of modalities. Using his academic research experience Dr. Hugh Gemmel, has pain-stakenly weaved his way through the maze of manual medicine/soft tissue research to put together the most useful information that can be applied instantly.

What he found was a treasure chest full of past academic articles, papers, peer reviewed literature that virtually went un noticed for decades. He began to pull together each articles until it began to take shape like a picture puzzle.

Since that time Dr. Gemmel continues to actively research and test the MFDT treatment protocol. He is currently overseeing multiple studies at his place of employment at the Anglo European College of Chiropractic in Boumemouth, England.

Dr. Hayes along with Dr. Conway has performed most of the clinical trials along with their daily practice. Both doctors see hundreds of patients per week and have been using this treatment successfully on their patients for over 10 years.

Also, Dr. Hayes and Dr. Conway have over 40 years of combined teaching experience. Using modern power point presentations will include lecture, notes, audio and video examples of all of there treatment techniques. Their unique methods of teaching will allow you to absorb more information that will enable you to have the confidence needed to take on even the most difficult patient cases.
